We’re proud to share that Spectrum News 1 recently featured Active For Life Fitness in a segment titled “Unique Tap Dance Helps Keep Seniors Active for Life.” The piece follows founder Melissa Renner during her seated tap class at Independence Village in Avon Lake, OH—showcasing how her passion for dance and senior wellness is helping older adults stay engaged, active, and mentally sharp.

Renner’s TAP TIME™ program combines rhythmic movement, cognitive stimulation, and fun—giving seniors a way to exercise both body and brain while seated. Her custom-designed tap shoe covers make the experience accessible to all, especially for those who can’t wear traditional tap shoes. After months of isolation during the pandemic, these classes offer more than just fitness—they provide meaningful connection, social interaction, and pure joy. With over 40 facilities served across northeast Ohio, Active For Life is bringing movement and community back to those who need it most.
